Volkswagen Passat (2011 – Present)

Redesigned and launched in 2011, the seventh generation Volkswagen Passat is a hugely popular here at Autoxpress, thanks to its attractive executive styling, range of fuel efficient engines and low running costs. The Volkswagen Passat is a great alternative to cars such as the Audi A4, BMW 3-Series and Toyota Avensis.

Sit inside and you will notice how comfortable it is straight away. Whether you are running to the shops or covering large motorway mileage, the Passat’s cabin is very well laid out, surprisingly spacious and a pleasure to spend time in. Volkswagen improved the handling of the latest generation Passat with more direct steering which helps when you are travelling on back roads. It is also available in both Saloon and Estate body types, the latter offering extra storage space in the rear.

There are a large range of engines to choose from in the latest Passat; however the most popular units with Irish buyers are the 1.6-litre diesel and 2.0-litre diesel variants. The 1.6-litre diesel engine produces a reasonable 105hp, costs just €200 to tax per year and returns up to 65MPG fuel economy! The large 2.0-litre diesel is available in 140hp or 170hp and is similarly efficient and cost-effective to run. If you opt for an automatic transmission, Volkswagen’s DSG system allows you to change the gears either automatically or manually which is rather nice addition.

The advantage of purchasing a UK-sourced Passat is significant, as these cars come with a much higher level of standard equipment. Take a look at our current Passat stock here and you will notice all of our sourced cars come with alloy wheels, air conditioning, colour coded bumpers, electric windows all-round, stability control and much more. We always have a large range of Passats in stock at our showroom in Limerick City. Why not call in today and take a test drive to see which Passat best suits your needs.
