Audi A6 - Buying Guide & Review
If you are looking for luxury and refinement, there are few cars to match Audi’s A6 saloon. Designed to compete with the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class, the A6 offers superb build quality and class both inside and out.
Audi is renowned for building comfortable and solid-feeling cabins, and this is certainly true when you sit into the A6. The seating position is supportive, while the cabin is laid out with space in mind and it remains silent out on the road blocking out road noise. For a saloon car, it offers ample head and legroom for all passengers, along with an incredible 530 litres of luggage space in the boot. The A6 is also incredibly poised through the corners thanks to a series of new chassis improvements.
When new, the A6 came with a host of different engine options, however the 2.0-litre diesel engine has proved particularly popular with Irish motorists. Producing 174bhp and 380Nm of torque, it can accelerate from 0-100km/h in a swift 8.4 seconds, while top speed is 226km/h. Despite its high performance credentials, the 2.0 TDI Audi A6 can return over 50 MPG in economy, while annual road tax is only €270 thanks to a low Co2 emissions output.
In terms of looks, the A6 was revised in late 2011 and the main differences you will notice from the outside are reshaped front lights, are lower profile grilles and updated rear styling. To view our current Audi A6 stock please click here.
