FAQ - AutoXpress Used Cars Limerick, Ireland
Are all the cars on your website in stock?
Yes, all the cars you see on our website belong to AutoXpress.ie as part of our stock offering.
Where cars are marked ‘on site’, it means they have arrived and are fully prepped for sale. Where cars are marked ‘coming soon’, they are en route to our showroom and will be available for purchase in the coming days.
How are you able to offer such low prices?
There is no great mystery to this; we simply have lower overheads than everybody else and we are happy with a small profit margin instead of a large one. We have also built, over five years, a strong reputation as a bulk buying purchaser in the United Kingdom so we are able to get access to the best cars at the best prices, ahead of everyone else.
How long have you been in the motor industry?
Together, our staff have been in the engineering and motor industries for over fifteen years, building excellent contacts, key suppliers and a loyal customer base.
Are you far from Limerick?
We are located just minutes from both the motorway and Limerick city – see our ‘Contact Us’ page for detailed directions and maps.
What are your opening times?
Our opening hours are as follows;
- 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday
- 9:30am to 4:30pm Saturday
- By appointment on Sundays and after 6pm
Do you have parking?
Yes, we have ample free parking on our premises. Simply drive through the white gates at our premises’ entrance and follow the ‘Customer Parking’ signs.
Do I need an appointment?
We encourage you to make an appointment to ensure that the car you’re interested in is still available – our stock does sell quickly, so it’s worth checking beforehand first. If the vehicle you’re interested in is sold, we will work to find you a similar model as soon as possible.
Can I get refreshments?
Of course, we have a small on-site customer cafe where you can help yourself to freshly ground coffee, tea and even a hot chocolate for the little ones.
Do your staff speak any languages?
Absolutely, in addition to perfect English, our staff also speak Latvian, Russian and Czech.
How do I know what the motor tax will be?
Simply go to the car you’re interested in on our website or pop in to see it and you will see the motor tax clearly displayed. Almost all of the cars we stock are in the lower tax brackets, between €190 and €390 per year.
How many owners do your cars have?
Typically, our cars have had just one owner and one driver – this is clear from the excellent condition of our vehicles.
When was the car last serviced?
As our cars are typically ex fleet cars they are usually very up-to-date with their servicing schedule. If it happens that a car is due a service before sale, we will always have our mechanics carry this out prior to handover and stamp the service book to reflect this.
Do all cars have an NCT Certificate?
Most of the vehicles we have in stock are not due their NCT test as the first test falls exactly four years after the date of first registration (you will see under 'car details' page or in our premises).
If they do require an NCT test within your warranty period, we will stand over the car to ensure it passes. We are happy to do this as our pre-sale mechanical check is so thorough that it is highly unlikely that a vehicle we sold would have any issues with an NCT.
How do I buy a car?
Simply call into our premises in Limerick or call a member of our team on 061446033.
We would be delighted to help in any way possible, from taking you through the history of the vehicle to going on a test-drive so you can see for yourself the excellent quality of our vehicles.
If you are happy to buy the car, you can place a VRT deposit (usually approximately 20% of the vehicle cost price) and we will take care of the rest. Your car will be available for collection a couple of days later.
In some circumstances (where a customer has finance in place, for example) the VRT deposit requirement may be waived. Simply give us a call and we can talk you through this.
Do you take trade-ins?
Yes, absolutely, we will accept trade-ins on all of our vehicles. Just call us or pop in to our premises in Limerick so that we can give you an idea of what it would cost to change your car.
Is the VRT included in your prices?
This is the number one question we are asked because customers can’t believe how low our prices are.
The answer? Yes, VRT is included in the price of all our cars and they are sold to you on Irish plates.
We pride ourselves on displaying all-inclusive pricing – the price you see online and in our showroom includes VRT, a detailed pre-sale mechanical check, a free Cartell.ie history report, a comprehensive warranty and a full valet.
Who handles the VRT process?
We do. Once you have decided to buy a car, you simply leave proof of address, proof of ID and a deposit with us.
We take care of absolutely everything for you and your car will be available on Irish plates a couple of days later.
Do you negotiate on price?
As you can see from even the briefest look at our competitors, we are typically between 10 and 20% cheaper than every other dealer in Ireland. We can do this because we work hard to keep our overheads as low as possible and we are happy to make a small profit instead of a large one.
So, with our prices already slashed to the bare minimum, there is simply no room left to negotiate – the prices can’t fall any lower than they already are without us selling for a loss.
This all helps to make the car-buying process much easier and less stressful for you - you can be guaranteed you are getting an excellent deal without compromising on quality or having to undergo hours of negotiations in a dealership.
Can I place a deposit over the phone?
Yes, we advise that customers do this if they’re very interested in a car as all our vehicles do sell very quickly, which can lead to disappointment amongst customers sometimes.
We can take a refundable €250 booking deposit over the phone using credit cards or laser cards, which will hold the car in your name for forty-eight hours while you arrange a visit / organise delivery.
This deposit is completely refundable; thankfully we are very busy and our cars do sell quickly – we have no need or wish to hold onto customers’ deposits.
If you would like to proceed to purchase the car, you can then place a further VRT deposit in order to have the vehicle registered in your name.
How can I pay for the car?
You can pay for your car any number of ways.
If you wish to pay for your car using a finance facility, we regularly work with all the major banks in Ireland and are happy to accept direct payment from them. Alternatively, you can apply directly for finance using our easy application form.
Alternatively, the following payment methods are accepted;
|Cheque||Must clear before car is collected||Free|
|Bank Draft||Proof of ID / address required||Free|
|Bank Transfer||Must clear before car is collected||Free|
|Finance||All major banks accepted||Free|
|Cash||Discouraged due to banking fees||Banking Charge 1%*|
*Due to extremely high banking fees, we have been forced to pass on a small portion of the charges which apply to our cash lodgements. We do this in order to continue to offer our low prices to all our customers, regardless of how they pay.
